Chain rattling or slapping?
A chain that rattles, slaps or jerks when you open the throttle is often too slack or worn. You notice it first, and then it goes quickly.
Service interval Interval according to your owner's manual, we check it for you.
Possible causes
- The chain is too slack and needs adjusting.
- The chain is stretched: you need to adjust it more and more often.
- There are stiff links from rust or too little lubrication.
- The sprockets are worn: hooked teeth on the rear sprocket.
What you can do yourself
Check the chain slack according to your owner's manual and lube the chain. If it keeps rattling, or you have to keep adjusting it, the kit is probably worn out.
