Every tyre is a trade-off between life, grip and behaviour in the rain. These are the three types we recommend most often.
A touring tyre with a harder compound. Lasts the longest, is predictable and works well in the rain and at lower temperatures. Ideal if you ride a lot of kilometres, tour or ride every day. Less suited if you ride really sportily.
The happy medium: more grip than a pure touring tyre, but still a long life. Warms up quickly and keeps working well on wet roads. For most riders the best choice.
A softer compound for maximum grip in corners and under braking. Wears faster and needs heat to work well, so in the cold and rain a sport touring tyre is often the better choice. For riders who love to attack every corner.
